A Vintage original Swedish oil painting of a sweeping coastal landscape and sea view, painted in the 1950s by Swedish artist Carl Berndtsson (1902-1983).

A light-filled scene painted en plein air (outdoors), that draws the eye beyond the trees and beach to a stretch of coastline across the sea in the distance, whilst capturing the essence of a big sky.
The artist has used confident strokes of impasto in the impressionist style applied to a wide-weave hessian canvas, adding texture and movement to the scene.

Oil on board, signed lower right, Berndtsson.

Framed Height: 22 1/2” x 26” (58cm x 67cm)

This original painting is in good vintage condition and is housed in its original giltwood and linen vintage frame, the frame has some age related blemishes.
