Lighthouse at Biaritz France - A Small Framed Watercolour of Biaritz Lighthouse Dated 1865
A unique and decorative framed 19th century watercolour of Biaritz, looking towards the lighthouse. Set in an original oval mount, in an antique frame, this pretty composition is titled in Copperplate writing to front by the artist:
‘LIGHTHOUSE AT BIARITZ, 1865.
Drawn by J. Plath, and given to James Wyatt, in rememberance of their journey to Spain.’
A perfectly sized and decorative piece of history; from one friend to another to commemorate a long past adventure before the advent of technology.
Framed: 9 3/4” x 11 1/2” (24.5cm x 29cm)
This original watercolour is in very good antique condition. The mount is faded due to age and the antique frame is solid with some repairs, as expected.
Due to the glass reflection, the watercolour is tricky to photograph, if you require more images please message me.
