Mid Century Modern Expressionist Oil on Canvas

A Mid Century original expressionist oil painting by Gertrud Schaertlin-Regli (1895-1974) of a landscape with lake and hills in the distance; trees and clouds are reflected in the water. The artist has chosen a colour-filled palette of reds, blues, yellow and white, the abstract forms of the landscape merge together like hazy evening light. The finely woven canvas gives an almost fabric feel to the composition.

Signed to reverse and dated 1958 (possibly exhibition date)
