Apple Blossom
An incredibly beautiful original painting of apple blossom by the French Post-Impressionist artist Ginette Rapp (1928-1998).
Born in Paris and trained at the Academie Julian at a time of great movement and change in the art world. Rapp went on to travel extensively throughout her artistic career with sketchbook in hand, creating art through the post-impressionist style she had honed creating works with illumination and reflection.
Ginette Rapp was the subject of an exhibition at The Tate, London, 6 August - 4 September 1955 titled ‘Four French Realists’ which focused on Rapp, Andre Minaux, Jean Vinay and Roger Montane.
The artist’s work can be found in the collections of the Centre Pompidou, Paris (Museum of Modern Art); and Galleries in the UK; The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery, Glynn Vivian Gallery, Aberdeen Art Gallery & Museums.
