‘L‘Eglise Grez’ An antique original impressionist oil painting by the Scottish artist, Daniel Pender Davidson (1885-1933). A tranquil scene of the church in Grez Sur Loing, France - an important artists colony at the time, near Fontainebleau.
Grez became an important late 19th Century artists colony; known for its silver-grey light, Daniel Pender Davidson has captured the atmosphere of light in this tranquil painting of the River Loing - which attracted many painters to paint 'en plein air' along its banks.
Daniel Pender Davidson (1885-1933) was born in Camelon, Scotland. He studied at the Glasgow School of Art and later in Munich and Brussels, exhibited and member of the Royal Academy.

•Framed size 43cm x 38cm (17” x 15”)
•The oil painting is good antique condition, some marks and scratches consistent with age. Held in its original frame, in vintage condition with marks to the linen slip.
