The Quayside - Swedish Vintage Mid Century Modern Original Oil Painting

A mid century modern Scandinavian urban landscape of a river quayside with bridge and buildings, oil on canvas dated 1955.

The painting shows influence of abstraction in the shapes used; with muted soft tones enhanced by a pink undertone, and highlights, adding warmth to the picture. Short, delicate, measured brushstrokes are skillfully used throughout and signify a highly competent artist.

Framed beautifully with an original moulded wooden frame in a soft gilt. Overall a neatly proportioned mid century composition, in a soft palette and in very good vintage condition.
